Two natural icons of the Brescia shore
Rocca di Manerba and Isola di San Biagio, commonly known as Isola dei Conigli or Rabbit Island, form one of the most recognisable landscapes in the western part of Lake Garda. The first dominates the shore from above; the second appears low, pale and close to the water. Seeing them during the same cruise creates a contrast that makes the itinerary especially dynamic.

The Rocca seen from the boat

Isola di San Biagio owes its nickname to the historical presence of rabbits and to the popularity it has gained among visitors and local residents. It lies close to the Manerba shore and is surrounded by water that can take on especially pale, bright colours in good light.
Under certain conditions, the lake bed between the island and the shore can become very shallow. You should not, however, assume that it can be reached on foot: water levels, access arrangements and rules may change. A boat provides a safe and complete view of the setting.
An area to observe with respect
The Manerba area includes environments of natural importance. Boats must respect instructions, distances, speed limits and protected zones. The value of the tour does not depend on getting as close as possible, but on understanding the landscape without disturbing it.

Photography: light, distance and composition
When photographing the Rocca, include an area of water: the horizontal base emphasises the height of the headland. For Isola dei Conigli, look for the contrast between vegetation, pale shallows and the blue lake.
The most effective photographs are not necessarily those taken from the shortest distance. A moderate distance allows you to show the relationship between the island, shore and Rocca instead of turning each place into an isolated detail.
